Pīrēnē, ēs, f., = Peirênê, a fountain in the citadel of Corinth (Acrocorinthus), which sprung up from a blow of the hoof of Pegasus; hence sacred to the Muses, Plin. 4, 4, 5; Plaut. Aul. 3, 6, 23; Stat. S. 1, 4, 25:
